Autumn Foraging Walks
Join Transition Dundee for a seasonal foraging walk in Backmuir Wood (between Muirhead and Liff - just outside Dundee) with local naturalist Tony Wilson. Tony has kindly offered two different time slots - 10am-12pm or 1.30pm-3.30pm on Sunday 22nd September. Tony is a highly experienced forager based in Fife. A former Countryside Ranger, Tony now teaches at Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and, in his spare time, hosts specialist walks and talks for groups interested in nature and foraging. We will be looking for autumn fungi, particularly those which are edible, but also other species as correct identification is essential. We will also look for edible nuts and berries growing on the trees, and any other plants we come across that can be edible or are interesting!
