Workshop: Crisp Blankets

Join ScrapAntics and guest environmental artist Violet in a unique sustainability workshop where you will transform empty crisp packets into thermal blankets!

Soft plastics like the ones used in crisp packets are difficult to recycle and if added to landfill can leach plastic pollution into our environment. To combat this waste, we can divert the material from landfill and upcycle it into useful thermal blankets that can provide warmth and protection from the rain for those living without homes.

We will run one workshop in partnership with Enable Dundee who support young people across the city to build skills and confidence, helping them take the next step after school. During this workshop, we will discuss the local impacts of the climate crisis and how that may affect different groups in the community, including the unhoused. We will then work together to create 'crisp blankets' and plan how to distribute them. Our second workshop will run at our weekly community session - ScrapThursday.

This relaxed, drop-in style workshop will allow for informal discussion while engaging in a creative project that does good in the wider community.
